I use Premiere Elements 1.0, It has some vary nice tools and such, but it's old, and so is my computer, and I have lots of problems with slowness, glitches and stuff crashing.

A while ago, my mum bought a newer version, and we put it on her new computer, however, for some reason, it is even more slow than the first, and they really ruined the nice layout that the old one had.
Unfortunately Adobe wouldn't help with technical support because it wasn't actually the latest version.

I beg to differ. IMO, Final Cut Pro is the best editing software around, although I must admit I haven't tried Final Cut X yet.
And my opinion isn't really well backed up because although I have Avid Studio, Premier Pro, and FCP 7 I only use FCP. I need to try out the others I guess. :P

With your price range I would get something in the Sony Vegas Product Family. I have used Sony Vegas Platinum then upgraded to Sony Vegas Pro. Both work great and Sony Vegas Platinum is by far the best editing software for your price range. Currently I edit with Adobe Premiere Pro and it is amazing but Elements is not worth it. It is designed for video noobs and is not nearly as good as anything in the Sony Vegas Product Family.

Not necessarily. I was looking around for a good replacement for WLMM, and I found out that Premiere is more powerful than Vegas, but Vegas is easy to use.

It's really up to Chris, but Vegas and Premiere Pro are the two best options I've ever seen for that price range. Although personally I would go with Premiere.[/quote]
Premier PRO is better than Vegas Movie Studio. But the Elements version is basically just a stripped down version with less features.
