Thanks for all the feedback and stuff!
Answering LASF's question, the studs were actually shot behind the gun, what I did was take a photo of the bandit and then remove him and using a plate and one of the bricks with studs on the side I put the plate (covered in gray dots) a stud behind the gun, the "smoke" dots were actually at the same stud level as the gun (I hope that is understandable, if not I'll post pictures later)
When I got to editing it I realized I hadn't taken enough photos of the smoke, so I ended up making them last 2 frames instead of one and it shows...it took a long time to mask it, and for some reason the white balance on all of the shots with smoke was off so my sister had to color correct it in photoshop (I'm color blind) and it took forever. The motion blur was supposed to make it look a little less lego-y but it didn't work that well.
(I copied that last bit from what I wrote in the animation challenge thread)

It is quite interesting though I do have a few things to say. It looks like the flare and the smoke are in front (more close to the camera) of the gun rather than on the same... layer (I'm not sure what word to use)? Also, the animation looks as if it slows down when he shoots the gun. Is that supposed to happen? Just curious.
