I'm getting a little light flicker still despite having all settings set to manual and all the other obvious "control the environment" stuff. I use Ainmator DV Simple+ for capture and use Frame Averaging set usually to 4 or 5. I'm starting to wonder if the frame averaging is causing the problem. Imagine it averages 5 frames, but for some reason, one of the frames is null (all black). That could produce a decent looking image but one that is 1/5 darker than frames before and after. One reason I suspect this is because if I capture a 2nd frame too soon after the previous one, sometimes, I get an all black frame (with frame avg turned off).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone NOT use Frame Averaging who uses Ainmator DV Simple+? Maybe the 9000 is so good, I don't need to use Frame Avg.

I might just need to do some experimenting, try to solve this puzzle.

In the meantime, I'm using a deflicker plug-in in VirtualDub to minimize the flicker, but it is far from perfect.
