The only little thing I didn't really like was the water effect at around 25 seconds. I think that if you submerged the pillars so that you can't see the "gaps" that the bottom cylinder pieces have, it would look better. I know it's a WIP, and it's really just a little thing.
Yeah, most of the effect shots in this are only maybe 80% done. That's definitely going to be fixed in the final version.
I had hoped to see more steampunk looking things in this, but it's a trailer I suppose. The costumes were appropriately Victorian, but the titles looked more like Art Deco. Anyhow it looks nice, I think the mouth animation works pretty well in this.
Well you may be disappointed by the film then, it's not entirely packed full of steampunk looking things. That said, in the trailer I did avoid showing basically everything cool in the movie since I hate trailers that reveal very much about a film.
This is interesting, since I've always seen steam-punk (in motion picture) as a stylistic approach rather than a genre, although steam-punk is kind of an evolution from German Expressionism. More recent examples would be Hugo, Sherlock Holmes, and The Golden Compass. None of these movies are linked thematically, but their visual style is very similar.
I have noticed this also, which is why I took steampunk more as a genre than a style for this film.

I agree that there isnt actually much Steam-punk shown - but this is a rather pointless argument since the movie looks very close to completion already. (Incidentally, I recommend you check out Brazil - a movie which arguably began steam-punk)

As per usual, the effects are outstanding (save the static water effect, but by now you've probably made the decision to alter it). The mouth animation is effective, the lighting and shadows look excellent (though more Art-Deco), the animation is nice and fluent, and there is a wide variety of shot types shown. From what I can tell, the voice acting isnt as good as Zombie: Genesis (your best work IMO), but it isnt quite as iffy as Picturesque or The Inventor (I know its nit-picky, but when everything else is so good it makes tiny little details stand out)

Oh, and the music is excellent.

Well I must admit I am intrigued. The animation was overall very good (but I think the walk cycle down the stairs could use some work, it looked like the steps were too big,) a lot of the sets were plain, but decent, and the story is hard to capture from the trailer, but it sure was a suspenseful trailer, and I'll be happy to watch the finished product.
