Sony Vegas Hands down . Its both simple and powerful.

Also, you can buy Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite on Amazon for $60. It has both Vegas Platinum 11, Sound Forge (Audio Editing), and DVD Architect (DVD Authoring and Burning), which, on there own would cost around $130. I recommend it, its a good deal. :) ( You Must buy on Amazon for this deal. On Sonys' website this is $124. )
I am not a big fan of the Adobe Elements Products. I have found Elements geared way to much for noobs. I had Elements for Photoshop and Premiere. I gave up with them and used Sony Vegas and Gimp instead and now I have upgraded to Adobe Master Collection which has Photoshop Extended and Premiere Pro and found them way better then the Elements package. So in summery I personally think Elements is a waste of time and does not give enough power for how much it costs. Get Sony Vegas if you want good editing software for $50-$100 and use gimp to you can afford real Photoshop.
True, I already have Gimp, so all I would need to get is the premiere elements, which when it's 50% off, is only $50.
So what about that? Is that good for Premiere Elements? And is that a good editing software?

Hey guys, Adobe is having a sale and Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 10 is 50% off, is that a good deal? That makes it $75, which is $35 cheaper than Amazon's normal price.
A fast anwser would be helpful.
