Well it seems logitech has a quickcam vision pro made specifically for mac (http://www.logitech.com/en-roeu/webcam-communications/webcams/devices/4528), so hopefully everything should work correctly with that. And everybody who recommended a quickcam 9000 was right, it is by far the best webcam for brickfilming. And if you're looking for mac animation software as well, I'd check out framebyframe (http://web.mac.com/philipp.brendel/Software/FrameByFrame.html) even though of course I've never used it. And it does seem this thread is getting a little off from the original topic doesn't it,? If you have an questions specifically for me, you can go ahead and PM me.

I use the quickcam pro, yes. I also use helium frog animation software, and shoot with a resolution of 1280x720. I'm not sure which OS you are running, but helium frog is great for windows, and can be found here:http://www.heliumfrog.net63.net/heliumfrogindex.html. Good luck!

Yep, it can. In the Logitech webcam software (assuming you have the latest one installed) go to the capture window and look at the control window to the right. you'll see an option to change it from standard to widescreen, and then from the drop down menu you can select 720p. And almost all external animation softwares have the option to choose 720p widescreen as well. The Quickcam can handle the quality of 720p perfectly, and in standard you can shoot up to 8MP within the quickcapture software :o (that's a lot).
