What I did for a long time was to take the photos, upload them to iphoto, and then import them into Imovie.

You [u][b]DO NOT[/b][/u] want to use iMovie for frame collection. The highest it fps it can go up to is 10fps which is choppy. Use MonkeyJam, FrameByFrame, SAM Animation, or so ething else of the kind, just not iMovie. I use to do what Samstego is explaining for a long time too until I found out about these other programs.
