Hey, welcome to the sight IALP! Yes, the Resources section would work, but also the hulk of animating and camera Q&A can be found in the Production section also. My tips would have to be:

1. Always have a good story. Even if some aspects of the movie might be bad, the story is not only 50% of the film, it's also a place that doesn't require certain hardware or software to have better quality.
2. Always look for the fine balance between, too-quick animation and fallasleep-too slow choppy animation.
3. You may not have good editing skills but remember, you have LEGO's. They aren't just for sets and characters. use them well. ;)
4. Not all films need to be scripted. I don't script. If you have trouble animating once you know the whole story specifically written down on paper, don't script it. If you like scripts then use them. just don't feel the need to script if you don't want to. :)
5. And finally always have fun. Kinda cliche but it's why your animating isn't it? If you're not having fun while animating, it usually means that the audience won't enjoy the film either. :)

And those are my top 5 tips for new brickfilmers. Nice to meet ya and hope to see ya in the Releases section soon.

Weclome newcomer! But for any tips, I have to say I couldn't have said it any better Eddie. But do have two things to add:

Remember what Eddie said about the story. Even in a short it can be vital to making, or breaking, a Brickfilm. And a GOOD way to get inspired for stories? My suggestion?

Grab some popcorn and watch movies. Any movies. Brickfilms, DVD's, go to the show, or just see what's on TV. Whatever you like. Watching other's works will make you start thinking yourself about what creative ideas you could do.

And for the second, although it is not always neccessary to write a script (unless you're going for a long-form Brickfilm like 'America: Outlawed'), but I do suggest keeping a notepad and writing down just simple concepts. You have an idea for a Brickfilm about bigfoot riding a trycicle? WRITE IT DOWN! You have an idea about a guy having a hard time buying a Big Mac? WRITE IT DOWN! Any little random idea that pops in you head, just make a quick one sentence note of it for you to go back through later and see if you want to do it. Always helps, especially if you have one you REALLY want to do, just not for a LONG while.

P.S. TO THE NUIMOBILE!!

Welcome, ItsALegoProductions!

I'd say your best bet is to look at the site's "Resources" section. It has all the info you need to start working on your first brickfilm. After that you should be familiar enough with the basics, and then you can ask questions here.

Welcome to the site ItsALegoProductions!

This whole site is a great resource. Have a look around and you'll pick up some tips for animation. Are you and your brother both totally new to animation? If so, I'd check out this. This is pretty helpful if you're new to animation and don't want to pay for anything. Or even if you aren't totally new to it I'd still check it out.
And also, this is a good thing to read if you want to use this site. Posting topics of your own for specific questions is also a good idea. And it's probably a good idea to post some of your animation in the WIPs and tests section of the site so people can give you advice to help you improve. And the resources section also has some helpful stuff in it.
