Actually building your own computer is typically more expensive. Because company that build them for you buy part with huge bulk discounts and you do not get those discounts so the parts cost you more. Sure the company that made the computer takes some profit for themselves but it is less than the profit from the parts.[/quote]

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[Thanks for all the ideas everyone! I am soon getting a better laptop(very probable) but it's not that much better. It definately has more HD space and RAM. For all the software I am going to run like After Effects, I am going to use one of our home computers that is perfect for what I need to run. :)]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[You do realize you need a pretty good computer to run AE, one with say only 2GB RAM and a terrible CPU and graphics card is going to make you cry at the lag.

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[It is actually easier than it sounds. It really only takes one day to build it. Just do a google search about computer parts. You can also go down to your local computer store and ask for help there. If you build a computer you can get the exact specs you want, and alot of the time the computer you build is better than most commercial products.]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[if you want to build a GOOD computer, the cheapest I got mine made was 550 dollars with 8 GB RAM 3.2 GHz processor, and one terabyte HDD.
Works like a charm.
