Sorry to disagree but that will make it look brighter on that layer then another.
I suggest you just fill it with water about a cm or a half high and box the outside.

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[Brick based water is cool, if you lock the camera down you can animate some brick based water, loop that animation and then animate whatever else you want to in the scene. I have had good luck with this.]]></content>

I'd put the entire set in a bin, adding more bricks under it if necessary, and securing the set with bricks extending outside the bin.]]></content>
