Director's Comments

Watch the iconic Nike Air Jordan 1 sneaker come together, brick by brick, using LEGO stop-motion animation and some simple DIY tricks. No CGI—just patience, creativity, and a whole lot of tiny movements.

The 40th anniversary of these shoes is coming up on April 1st, but I couldn’t wait that long to drop this video!

This was shot frame by frame using Dragonframe software at 24 frames per second.

I found this brick set on eBay from a company called NetMagnetism—they had a bunch of other cool sneaker sets. Not sure if they’re still around, though.

I’ve also read that LEGO and Nike are teaming up soon, so I can’t wait to see what iconic shoes they release. I know LEGO and Adidas have already collaborated on a sneaker, and that one turned out amazing.

Let me know in the comments—what shoe should I animate next? I’ve got the UNC Off-White Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 11 Concord lined up, so expect those soon!
