This featured brickfilmer post is part of a series of articles highlighting animators who supported the Bricks in Motion Documentary project on Kickstarter.

Tobias Nikl, 15, is a filmmaker based in NYC and orginally from Prague, Czech Republic. He joined th BiM Community in 2010 and met some inspirating filmmakers through the site. He currently attends an art high school, where he's studying Film & Media.

Some of his recent projects include The Man in Red and Blue and The Competition. The Competition has brought Nikl some success:

"The Competition won in one of the categories of a Czech festival and was screened as one of the short films played before feature films in a chain of Czech independent theaters through the year of 2014. I really encourage fellow animators to submit their brickfilms into festivals and contests all over the world, since the creativity of this medium sort of gives it an advantage."

Nikl is currently working on a new project for which he has released a trailer, titled Airplane Survival.
